Gangway Testing on Container Ship

During April 2011 Hydro-Wates® completed the proof-load testing of multiple personnel gangways on a container vessel in the Port of Houston. This testing was performed as part of the five year SOLAS survey on this equipment. Test weight was applied using Hydro-Wates® 1,100 lb cylinder style water bags, with the water volume verified using a digital water meter. Load water for the test was pumped from the harbor using Hydro-Wates® centrifugal pump and manifold system located on the pier. This work was completed while three dockside cranes were unloading and re-loading the vessel with containers.
