Hydro-Wates Completes 1,944,920 lb Proof-Load Test

In early April 2011, Hydro-Wates successfully completed its highest proof-load test to date. This work was performed on a derrick barge in Mobile Harbor. The final certified test load was 1,944,920 lbs (882.25 metric tons), and included a rectangular lift frame and rigging, four load indicating shackles, and 28 water bags. The final test load was achieved at 04:30 in the morning and can be seen through the morning mist with the vessel's crane providing back-lighting.
